Juno, Arromanche and Point du Hoc

Hi all,
Kind of a hectic day, the ride to Juno Beach Center left at 645am so we were up at 5, and we were late arriving.  Under the gun all day to get around, but we finally found our pace.  We saw the Juno beach centre and managed to get right down to the ocean, which was very wild.  It is a long stretch of tidal flat, and gave us some perspective of how harsh the conditions and the objective would have been for the men that landed there.  Arromanche is a beautiful little bay town that has a lot of remaining pilings and temporary port materials still in the water, but I didn't get any photos.  I will have to hit up someone else for those.  Point du Hoc was a huge promontory, about 100 ft above the sea level, that had heavy gun placements and fortifications.  I can't imagine what the men attacking these places must have gone through.
